About this tour
Phuket Elephant Sanctuary in Paklok is a retirement home for elephants rescued from logging and tourism, inspired by Lek Chailert's Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai. There is no riding and no bathing with the animals; you walk into the forest with a guide, watch the herd forage and bathe on their own terms, feed them their baskets of bananas, watermelon and cucumber, and finish with a vegetarian Thai meal at the Tree Top Lounge. Morning 09:30 to 13:00 or afternoon 13:30 to 17:00, with a shared round-trip transfer from nine pick-up zones. A full day, "In the Footsteps of Giants", with three meals is ฿6,500; volunteer stays of one, three or six days are available.
